Jindo Beagle Mix
Youngsil spent four long years in an overcrowded shelter in Korea — one housing over 1,600 dogs — before Eight Paws brought him to Canada in early 2024. In his foster home in Kitchener, he has slowly but surely revealed who he truly is: brave, playful, gentle, loyal, curious, funny, and a remarkably fast learner.
He's exceptionally calm throughout the day but lights up with excitement at mealtimes, doing joyful "zoomies" — spinning circles — whenever he's happy. He greets his foster family every morning and every time they return home. He rarely barks, but will alert to unusual sounds. He's highly obedient and responds well to commands.
Youngsil does carry some anxiety from his years of confinement, but with routine and patience he has grown in confidence every day. He has a natural, gentle protective instinct — and one slightly lazy left eye that doesn't affect his vision at all.
Ideal home: Youngsil would thrive with access to a backyard for running, and would especially love having another dog companion. He is in excellent health.
