Rescue Story

Burberry was found with 1,600 other dogs, being kept by an animal hoarder in South Korea. Our partner, Beagle Rescue Network, saved him along with all the other dogs (and had the animal hoarder shutdown).

About Him/Her

Burberry is a sweet, gentle soul who likes going for a walk. He had a tough and long life in the shelter, and he has been in a foster home for about 5 months. Slowly but surely, he is breaking out of his shell and making progress. He greets his foster mom wagging his tail, and he comes and checks if he hasn’t seen her for awhile. He’s comfortable being near kids as long as the kids don’t chase him or yell. His favorite things are walking, sniffing a snuffle mat, hanging out on the couch, and getting gentle pets by his family. He doesn’t shed and doesn’t bark.

Initially, we estimated his age as 6~7 because of his low energy but we think it might be our mistake because, when he was rescued in 2019, he was a very young puppy around 1~2 years old. He is a shy and cautious boy until he is sure that he is in a safe home with nice people who he can trust. Until he builds a bond, he usually stays on the couch. But once he comes out of his shell, he wanders inside the house more, he runs, playing with another dog, following and staying near his family. But most of the time he is a mellow, calm, and gentle dog.

He loves going for a walk. He will come to the front door to get ready. His second favorite thing is sunbathing on the deck. He pushes his body against his human to express his love. He is ok with other dogs who are very calm and respectful of his space. Otherwise, he seems scared of other dogs and cats he encounters on the street. He barked at the cat in his foster home for one day, but he stopped, so we think he’s ok with cats. He is very generous with kids allowing pets and hugs and never shows any aggression toward kids. He has been living in 3 foster homes where young kids live.

We are looking for an adopter who will love him endlessly and spoil him with lots of treats. He deserves a good life.

Because he lived a couple of years in a shelter, we will ask for extra caution for his safety until he builds a strong bond with you.
